Promoting business and professional growth

Since its founding in 1959, The Brentwood Baldwin Whitehall Chamber of Commerce has worked to promote every business within our Chamber. Our vision has always been to make our community a better place to live, shop, and do business. As business people, we come together and reach out to every aspect of the community. We sponsor activities to inform residents and businesses of our goods and services. Our luncheons, dinners, and mixers, give us an opportunity to discuss our needs, present our products and services, and discover what others have to offer.

In addition to keeping you advised of local, state, and federal government activities that affect business issues, we unite to influence government decisions and interventions that affect the business climate. We come together to solve problems and address barriers to our prosperity. We cooperate with school districts and all the organizations within them. We assist other civic and municipal organizations, and we honor the families who in turn support our businesses.

2017 Chamber Education Grant

The 2017 Brentwood Baldwin Whitehall Chamber of Commerce Educational Grant will be presented to one student from Baldwin High School and one student from Brentwood High School (a $1,000 education grant for each district’s senior student awardee).

Our mission includes making our communities a better place to live, plan and conduct business. We are seeking students that exhibit these qualities. Candidates for the grant should demonstrate exceptional accomplishments in a wide range of endeavors both inside and outside of school. This grant is intended to recognize achievements in school, business activities and/or voluntary service to the community. To be eligible for the grant, the student must meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated achievements through employment, apprenticeship experiences, entrepreneurial/business ventures, and/or voluntary service.
  • Average or above scholastic achievement in school
  • Has applied/been accepted to a post secondary school

 Entries will be evaluated by members of the Chamber.

 Judging will consider: focus on content, organization of ideas, style and conventions. Completed applications should be sent via email in Word or PDF format to secretary@bbwchamber.com, mailed to the Brentwood Baldwin Whitehall Chamber of Commerce, 3501 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15227 or delivered to the Brentwood Library to be placed in the chamber mailbox. Entries will not be downloaded from third party accounts.

Deadline for application is March 1, 2017.

 

Grants will be presented at the April 6, 2017 Brentwood Baldwin Whitehall Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
